People seem to have found a major interest with networking websites such as Facebook, Moodle, Twitter, MySpace, Yahoo, and Google. Blogging is one of them. Blogging for class is fun in a way, but the problem is some people have trouble doing it every week. People have other assignments and sometimes it is hard to remember one has to blog. Blogs are very interesting because anyone can comment on it and people can have debates over the issues with people all around the world. These issues can change peoples lives and start revolutions that or good and bad. A few solutions to this problem could be that the timing has to be changed, more interesting topics, and better interaction from peers.
The timing on the blog is kind of invisible. The people who have trouble remembering to do the blog are in bad shape because since they had all week to finish it, they waited until the last minute. Maybe the blog should be every two weeks or three weeks; it would some students to do it on time. These blog could be very long, like essays to prepare us for the paper we might have due soon. The blog should be everyday but little small ones. People would be forced to do it everyday if they do not, too bad. One has all day to complete the blog. An objection to this idea would be that one has to work and go to school all day and one can only do what one can. An objection would someone who is just very lazy and does not do the blog at all. It might help timing if the topics were more engaging.
Blog topics are usually about writing or literature. They are good topics, but some people have their opinions about other things like political problems, health, relationships, and school issues. We can have a blog about different things of that nature. It would attract more bloggers to the site and assignment. These topics would interest more students to do the blog. If the blog was not Facebook everyone would comment on the blog. That would be a fun way of debating and enjoying our peers. An objection would be some students may not understand what we are talking about. Others may want to air their business on the internet about relationships. Topics for the blog are very and it would be very nice to keep the students interested. We can learn different things about ourselves and peers.
Interaction with peers is very important. It helps develop one’s beliefs about certain things. The more everyone participates sincerely; others will feel comfortable to comment on others blog. People can gain friends of a lifetime. Students would have fun getting to know each other. Sometimes it makes them feel more comfortable to talk in class in front of others. This can help the whole class because everyone would work together and get more done. The class would be more active and students would enjoy coming to class everyday. An objection to this solution would be that the students are to scared or lazy to really talk to each other. They make have very different clashing personalities. This can cause a lot of tension among the students. This solution would work very effectively, if not for the objections.
People would not miss so many blogs if the timing is changed, had more interesting topics, and more interaction from peers. They could lose points on their grade. One can also lose friends that they could have had. They can fail college and not get a job. These blogs have broaden a person ideas about a many different things in this world. One can a war with countries by what they say on a blog and its crazy. If the students do their blog they can earn points and have a great discussion about a many different topics about life and the world. I think I love this blog and I learn more about computers by setting up this blog. I thank the teacher for showing this way to communicate with people and make it so much fun.Blog can be a new way to debate.

Self-Respect

The allusion Didion uses in her essay helps the reader understand the points she is trying to make. She makes allusions to Wuthering Heights, the novel. It helps compare to stories of the topic of the essay. Some of her allusions are very helpful, but others are not right. This is how Didion supported her points.

“To do without self-respect, on the other hand, is to be an unwilling audience of one to an interminable documentary that details one’s failings, both real and imagined, with fresh footage spliced in for every screening.” I agree that most people would agree to this statement. I know because there are some tings they did in life; they are not proud of so they try not to remember it. I totally agree with this statement. The statement about adultery does not make because how can a person live with themselves knowing they are causing other people hurt.

Having self-respect id a discipline can be connected to discipline writing skills. For example, in order to better one’s writing skills they have to practice writing and you know you need to do it. Self-respect can be developed be a strong belief of taught to be that way. Also, throughout the years a person starts to develop morals that discipline that self-respect. This is how it’s connected.

  1. M
  2. E

  6. A
  7. E
  8. E
  9. A

I like the MEAL plan she used in her writing. I would try to use it in my writing.

  • Restate how the Acadian people struggle
  • States how people feel about their culture
  • Restates thesis
  • Final strong idea

Louisiana
Heritage
In other words, connecting with one’s own community and culture as well as other future French cultures through out the world it is beneficial to be bilingual.

Responbility for Yourself

Minorities and low income folks were thought that they would not account to anything in life. This paragraph explains that men, women, minorities, and etc. that they should prove those people wrong and that they should speak up for themselves and what they believe in. These people should show responsibility for their actions and go after what they want out of life.

A student would agree to what the teacher assigns. The teacher agrees to teach and help them as best they can. Ethical and intellectual concerns connect because ethical is what you know is expected and intellectual is your thoughts. Ethical and intellectual are very important but I think a person should “do” them.

writing

When I write a paper I don’t read over it at all. I just wait till the last minute and check for mistakes. I turn it in just like that. The benefit for looking at the draft after it’s done is to make corrections and write some things better. A person can make sure what their writing makes sense. They can make it better than it was. This is a result to reading a draft after it’s done. I guess I should read my drafts now.

I can apply the “consider the evidence” information to a draft of personal experience by referring to a personal experience and describing the experience. Whatever happens to me or someone I know is evidence of my personal experience. I just state what I know about the event or situation. This is how you can apply evidence to a draft of personal experience.

The useful tidbit from the “Academic Writing is an Analysis” section is to take parts of a subject and writ how and why questions about it. The section the needs more explanation is the section when it talks about a question is not know at it. What does it mean?

The section in the article and the rubric are about the same. The teacher is more specific about how she wants the papers to come out. The article just gives a brief explanation.

Homemade Things and Literacy

Values implied by the term “homemade” are freedom, sensitivity, and understanding. Homemade things seem to be of more value and sentimental to the ones that made them. Homemade things are usually better than store bought things. Some examples would be a home cooked meal, a quilt made by your grandmother, and a card made from the heart. When homemade things are taken of less value then that person may have had bad memories with that particular thing. An example would be that your ex-boyfriend, who broke your heart, gave you a card, but you throw it away because it causes you to remember his lies. No, I can think of no one that has educated themselves, but it would be interesting to meet someone who has.

Malcom X thought education was his freedom as much as he learned he didn’t feel like he was in prison. He read constantly and studied the dictionary. When he finally was released; what he had learned he applied it to a cause he believed in, it made him feel free to work toward something he cared about. The quote is very close to what Malcom X has written. Education is a way to freedom. The only thing different seems to be that Malcom X is self-educated and this is in a classroom. This is how Malcom X related concepts and the compare and contrast of this quote.

If I was locked in a cell, I would study psychology because I love to observe people and understand what they are thinking or what is in their hearts. I want to understand why people do the things they do. For example, why would another person tease someone else? After my release I would strive to understand the human mind. I would read many books on different theories and ask people plenty of questions about themselves. I would probably ask my family some questions and give advice on what could do. People would start coming to me for help with their problems to help them achieve what they want. This would be my literacy.

Basic Writers World Views

Basic Writers World Views

Benefits to writing your own world views are that certain people would understand what you are writing, the paper is easier to write, and you would have a better understanding of your thought process. People who know you or come from your background would understand your view because it is much the same. Writing a paper about what you think and feel is very easy for certain topics that you know about and understand. The more you think about what you are going to write; the better you understand how you think and what is going on in your mind. These are the benefits of drafting a paper in your own world view.

Bizzell has a point. Different views cannot coexist. It is like you trying to decide that they should do what society says or follow their heart. This just does not seem possible depending on the type of person you are. Some people who have the mind set to “play both fields”  are really good writers. I think they have a balance of both views. They apply it in life. Some people have to teach themselves to think that way. Everything has two sides to every story, what you think and what they think. People can and cannot coexist with totally different world views.
